The Osterizer blender is an extremely durable and well-built blender. This blender performs outstandingly well for many functions.
I purchased this blender for making smoothies and to provide other mixing and blending food functions. The ice crushing feature works great as long as you use smaller ice cubes. The larger sized ice cubes do not crush very well. When I adjusted the size of the ice cubes, the ice crushed beautifully and the smoothies actually came out smooth. Optional crushing blades are available for the Osterizer and seem to work better on larger ice cubes than the regular blades.
This blender is loaded full of power with 450 watts. To my surprise, it operates relatively quiet, considering the amount of power the unit has. It is much less noisy than some I have used in the past and tasks take much less time to complete.
The rubber feet on the bottom of the blender really grips the counter nicely, preventing it from moving during operation. It is equipped with a snugly fitting lid which helps to avoid messy spills or mishaps.
The scratch resistant glass jar is an absolute delight. The jar is a bit heavy but when comparing it to my old plastic one, the glass jar is by far superior. My old plastic jar looked cloudy and scratched after only a few uses. The glass jar sparkles like it is brand new after it is cleaned and should remain this way for the life of the appliance.
The Osterizer blender is equipped with stainless steel blades. They are a wonderful feature and they do not rust and provides great chopping and crushing actions. The unit also has an All-Metal Drive system which enhances the durability and extends the life of the machine.
The Osterizer blender is most definitely a good buy and is a quality made unit which is made to last for many years. My Osterizer gets a daily workout, sometimes several times a day. Just the mere sound of the blender sends my family rushing to the kitchen to see what yummy treat I am making.
